Does anyone know how much administration or office jobs pay at the mines?
I’ve worked as a P.A to executive level, in IT and as a legal secretary. My office skills are top notch, and I’ve got multimedia and graphics packages as well as advanced microsoft skills. I’m wondering what sort of jobs they have at the mines as I recently got OUT of office work as needed a change, but the temptation of money for something I’m really good at could draw me back in… It’s all about the money!! Any ideas on pay?? My husband wants to go drive dump trucks so we’d both move somewhere like Kalgoorlie and take our dogs with us. As long as they have Foxtel and the internet I could cope with the back of beyond.
Site clerk roles around WA are generally paying in the $60K – $80K range right now. It largely depends on the location. If you take a more remote location (which I would encourage you to do) the money is higher. Many miners are favouring female haul truck operators as they are gentler on the equipment so if you are seriously looking for change……
To bolster your chances, get a St Johns senior first aid certificate, Marcsta ticket and a truck license. Then watch the papers or go see the likes of Rio and BHP, they need people now.
