After reinstalling windows my graphics card is no longer working/visible?
I have already downloaded the driver software (thanks to Intel’s wonderful auto-updater) and when I check the properties of “My Computer” everything looks exactly like the way it was before. (meaning that my computer could recognize it). However, when I try to play games that i have had no problems with, the computer says it is not strong enough to run it even though a few days prior it could. When i reinstalled windows i ran into a formatting problem and brought the tower to a computer shop to reformat the hard-drive so the reinstall could resume, i am not sure if anything was damaged during transit or maybe the hard-drive reformatting had something to do with it.
Here are some options if not yet done
Click (START) Right click (My computer) scroll down to (Manage) and select it.
A window will pop up.
In the left side of the divided window the( 6th )selection down should say (Device manager)
click it once. The right side of the divided window will list all you PC components.
1st look for any yellow ( ? ) question marks with an even smaller yellow circle over it that has an ( ! ) mark in it. If so, see if one of them look like your GRAPHICS CARD name. if not, still you need to right click it and choose the first option in the sub menu and select ( UPDATE DRIVER ).
For now try that.
i have a question for you if that doesn’t work. DID YOU DOWN GRADE FROM microsuck vista to xp? OR vista to 7?

a friend buggered up the graphics driver when i was meant to do it for him?
the graphics card itself is nvidia geforce 7900 gs but he put on an ati radeon driver from a list that driver updater gave him now the screen doesnt turn on and we cant see a thing so how would i go about fixing it without a screen. its still fully functional it doesnt beep more than once and the windows welcome sound can be heard.

remove the cmos battery and that should reset the settings
