Overclocking suggestions needed?
I’m thinking of overclocking my core2duo e8400 wolfdale to 3.6ghz. I’d like to replace the stock Intel heatsink/fan with something better before I do, though. Any suggestions?
I’m also considering overclocking my graphics card. GeForce 8800 GTS 320 mb. I’m wondering what the general safe overclock is for this card and what monitoring/benchmarking program(s) I should use for this.
If anybody has any further suggestions I should read up on before attempting to OC either one of these I’d greatly appreciate it as well. Thank you.

Note that I don’t intend to do all of this at once, mind you, I plan on doing my GPU then my CPU and then, if I still feel like it, my motherboard. Thanks again.
the e8400 is a excellent overclocker and can reach 3.6 most often with out much of a problem….definitely replace the heat sink and fan…..i use this….xigmatek s1283 cooler for 37.00 bux….cooling a phII X4 955 now at 3.820ghz….

edit——-added more info……the only thing you can really do to the motherboard is increase voltages…like the nb or sb really for more stability for the ram and ram controller(imc)…also your going to be overclocking your ram as well…that goes up when you raise the fsb for the cpu…..if you have the option you can unlink the ram,it wont oc then, if you dont have that option drop the memory divider….if your running pc6400 800mhz drop the ram to 667 mhz and start ocing from there……

Problem with my AGP Graphics Card. Please Help
I recently bought Sparkle Ge-force 6200 A.g.p 8x 256 MB. It installed fine but when i run a benchmarking tool like Everest it shows that it is an A.G.P 4x graphic card. Also when i try to set anti-aliasing it shows that I can apply anti-aliasing upto 4x. But I knew I could anti-alias upto 8x. Please help.

Is your motherboard AGP 4x? Maybe check the BIOS settings. I’d be suprised if the 6200 can do 8x antialiasing, it’s the cheapest standalone GeForce card made. You might need at least a 6600 for that…
In general, Geforce cards ending in 800 or higher (7900, 8800, 9800) have good gaming performance, while 600 cards (7600,8600,9600) are entry-level gaming cards. Anything below 600 (6200, 7200, 8400 etc) are just budget cards – good enough for web-surfing & e-mail but way too weak for hardcore games like Call of Duty, Oblivion, Supreme Commander, Age of Conan, Crysis etc.
